The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ekiti North Federal Constituency II, Hon. Barr. Ibrahim Kunle Olarewaju, has declared that the unprecedented and massive turnout of the people of Ekiti State during yesterday’s presidential campaign rally is a definitive testament to an impending, resounding victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming general elections.
Hon. Olarewaju, a former Senior Special Assistant to the President and former federal lawmaker, made this assertion in Ado-Ekiti while the state played host to the APC Presidential Campaign Rally. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was brilliantly represented by the Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima, alongside top national leadership of the party, headed by the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari.
Highlighting Ekiti's strategic political positioning, Hon. Olarewaju noted that Ekiti State holds the distinction of being the first state in the President's home region of the Southwest to host the presidential campaign rally, setting a high standard with phenomenal success.
"Though we are the 'Fountain of Knowledge and Land of Honour,' Ekiti has once again proven to be the 'gateway' to a sweeping APC victory in the Southwest. We hope other states will take a cue from our momentum," he stated.
Laying bare the unity of the state, Hon. Olarewaju pointed out that virtually all former governors of Ekiti State were present at the rally. The sole exception, Engr. Segun Oni, who recently lost a close relative, still sent formal apologies, commitments, and his support groups, signaling a profoundly unified front standing firmly behind the President's mandate.
In a rare demonstration of political maturity and cross-party consensus, he added:
"All the gubernatorial candidates of other political parties in the state for the 2026 election, came out to support the President. This level of consensus is a milestone that can only happen in Ekiti State."
He boldly emphasized that the anticipated victory goes beyond certainty and is poised to set unprecedented records in Nigerian electoral history.
Hon. Olarewaju paid glowing tributes to the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for his exceptional leadership style and political sagacity. He lauded the Governor’s ability to unite former governors, key party stakeholders, and even political actors across party lines in total endorsement of the Tinubu/Shettima joint ticket.
"Aside from being a grassroots-connected governor whose transformative works speak volumes, Governor Oyebanji did not rely solely on his own abilities. He reached out to all necessary stakeholders," Hon. Olarewaju remarked.
Expressing absolute confidence in the electoral outcome, he assured stakeholders that President Tinubu can rest easy regarding Ekiti State:
"Ekiti will not just vote massively; Ekiti will deliver 95% of total votes, become the first state to declare victory results for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and host the most peaceful election in the country."
Reiterating his commitment to his home constituents and their alignment with the national mandate, Hon. Olarewaju pointed to the thousands of constituents who mobilized alongside him from Moba, Ilejemeje, and Ido-Osi:
"As you can see, my people are here with me in their thousands. This speaks volumes to the fact that I enjoy overwhelming acceptance at home. There is simply no way President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will record a massive win in my constituency without me securing a landslide victory in the exact same fashion."
In conclusion, Hon. Olarewaju expressed profound appreciation to the APC national leadership, the Presidential Campaign Council led by Senator Abdulaziz Yari, the APC Ekiti State chapter, and the party’s leaders, while offering special congratulations to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for the monumental success recorded during yesterday’s rally and the steady march toward total victory in 2027.
